Rag Devils - Folk Horrors 1 & 2 Full Sets Painted

When a third Kickstarter was announced for more Ana Polanšćak Folk Horrors, I was a little dismayed because I hadn't gotten through the first two sets yet. I decided to see what I had left (instead of drawing randomly like I'd been doing)  and it turned out I only had four left, the Ooser and some Rag Devils.

With these completed, I am able to say, for now, that I have all the Folk Horrors painted. On to the rest of the Crooked Dice sets now!

Ooser - Folk Horrors - Meridian Miniatures and Gardens of Hecate

“Ooser” from the Folk Horrors Kickstarter by Meridian Miniatures/Gardens of Hecate.

I decided to look this one up before I painted it- some of the folk horror miniatures seem to be invented, while others have a basis in some actual folklore. This one is based on the Dorset Ooser, which is a pretty interesting little rabbit hole. I decided to give him the multi-color treatment I used on the Crooked Dice mummermen I have painted previously.

About a day after painting him it dawned on me that he’s on the cover of the much beloved “Folklore, Myths, and Legends of Britain” book (which I still haven’t fully read 😞).

Happy Solstice!

Mr Mangel - Attack Dogs - Mast Beasts - Folk Horror - Crooked Dice Children of the Fields

Adding a few more miniatures to the folk horror project I've been working on for a couple years now. These are from Crooked Dice's "Children of the Fields".
