40K Rogue Trader Adventurers - Space Amazon and Punks

Continuing with my goal of painting up all of  the old Rogue Trader era 'Adventurers', I recently finished up the 'Space Amazon', 'Punk', and 'Mad Punk' (who, oddly, is more calm than the frenzied and maniacal looking Punk).

The Space Amazon was the hardest miniature of the range for me to acquire and one I really wanted to paint. Sadly, I could never decide how she should look so it took me years to get around to her. I decided to paint up the other two mohawked punks at the same time.

Next up, the spaceship crew!

  1. Wonderfully painted in the grand old style!

  2. Great work there. The Space Amazon has a real John Blanche feel to it. Are they for a particular faction/game?

    1. Thanks! Amazon is definitely Blanche inspired, there's several minis out there similar to her.

I have a generic group of space anarcho-punks but haven't fully decided what to do with them. I have an idea for a Christmas game using the old Citadel Space Santa, they may show up there as enemies, neutral party, or maybe even friends.

  3. Very traditionally well done.
Bright and gritty in equal parts.

  4. Great work, I always love to try to capture the tension between the gritty side of 40K and the bright colours of the 1990s era and you have got it perfectly with these models. Really nice!

    1. Thanks, there have been a lot of times I want to go full grit Blanche but I can't seem to do it, I like that 90s color ;)

  6. These are exceptional, brilliant work.

As Warburton mentioned, the tension between the grit and the graphical is very appealing in toy soldiers. I like my miniatures with a nod to both gritty and bright. "Grimbright" maybe :D

  7. The Space Amazon looks a lot like one of the later Necromunda characters.
Brilliant work on all of them, you captured the Rogue Trader flair excellently.

    1. Mad Donna? You're right, I never thought about that. I think I have an unpainted Mad Donna in the pile... better dig her out!
