40k Adventurers - Techs - Cyborgs

My June Adventurers entry is a group composed of the scientific and cyborg types.

Test-bed Slave, Talisman Scientist, Tech-Priest Zon, Converted Zon, Tech-Priest Schlan, Talisman Cyborg, and the Adventurers range Cyborg.

Schlan and servitors setting up a force field generator.

I had an extra Tech-Priest Zon, and I felt the urge to convert him and paint him up like Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who has been getting a lot of media exposure. The encased bioform in the background is from Dragon's Rest, it's a 3D print with a tealight to produce the underglow.

Might as well show some other 'tech types' I painted a few weeks ago that I forgot to post.

"Dr. Diana" from Warzone/Mutant Chronicles.

Servitor from Wargames Exclusive and a 'Tech Wizard' from Brother Vinni.

More or less on target for the year :)

Inquisitor Lord Hector Rex - 40k Forge World

My June Inquisition entry is Hector Rex and his retinue, produced by Forge World. I enjoyed painting the acolytes more than the Inquisitor himself.

I painted the icon bearer in blues, to suggest that he was formerly of the Order of the Ossuary. The Sword bearer is black to match his master, and the third guy seemed like an astropath, so he received the traditional green robe and white staff.

The building in the background is an Arbitratorum from Kromlech. Kromlech was running a discount package deal with free shipping on some of their hive city terrain so I picked it up to go with my non-ruined Imperial sector stuff. I'll be showing that group of terrain in a future post.

The Baroness

This miniature, "The Baroness" by Joe K minis, has been lingering around my 'soon to paint' queue for a while. I bought it for no particular reason a few years ago- I'm sure I was purchasing something for a specific project and added a few items to make the shipping seem less painful :)

This is a very nicely detailed resin miniature and was pretty quick to paint. I'll probably use her as a 'wandering soul' for the game Rangers of Shadow Deep.

Rogue Trader Ordo Malleus and Adeptus Arbites

Here's my latest entry for my Inquisitor project, an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and some followers.

The Inquisitor is from the old Rogue Trader Ordo Malleus blister pack. The two followers are "Mourning Wolves' Warzone/Mutant Chronicles miniatures. They seem to fit very well with this guy. Along with my other Rogue Trader projects, I based the oddball color scheme on a Moebius concept illustration.

Grey Knights were one of my favorite armies back in the olden days, and one of their unit types in Slaves to Darkness was an Arbites squad. I was always a little resentful that GW didn't make any Arbites for the Grey Knights list. These versions were released right as 2nd Edition was dropping, and were  replaced not long after by another variation.

I've been collecting Arbites for a long time, and it seemed like another case of 'now or never', so I decided to make a street-legal Arbites squad according the the list in Slaves to Darkness to guard the Inquisitor. A couple years ago I decided I needed a grenade launcher for my RT Arbites, and sculpted one that looked like the ones used by the Imperial Guard, I also sculpted a web gun, since they were stock on the Arbites list. I cast a bunch of them in resin.
