Véronique Fidelia, Planetary Governor - Imperial Noble

The last miniature I painted in 2016, Véronique Fidelia, Planetary Governor of Plutalea, a peaceful world rejoined with the greater Imperium a mere few centuries ago.

She is based on a Reaper miniature, Xiufang, from the Chronoscope range. I replaced her original hand with a small reliquary to show her devotion and piety. The reliquary is from a Games Workshop kit (probably the Grey Knights set) combined with a new hand and a little bit of greenstuff. I also sculpted a symbol of the Imperium, the double headed eagle, to denote her rank.

Happy New Year to all!

End of the Year Randomness

I almost did it.

My goal was to get everything that I had primed (including terrain) painted before the end of the year, and I was close. Unfortunately an unexpected funeral came up and I had to be away from my house for six days while I traveled for that, along with Christmas travel.

My last burst included two kitbashed VSF walkers that I primed about five years ago, some miscellaneous Armorcast toolboxes, a cloth vendor's wares from a Eureka set, two new statues (54mm satyrs I picked up used at GenCon about two years ago, mounted on Hirst Arts bases) three Copplestone Castings policemen, a neat little plastic 'Great Crossbow' from Eccentric Miniatures, some scratch built shantytown terrain pieces I started a couple weeks ago, and a group of nine long neglected figures I plan to use for 40K games.

Also pictured are tents from Miniature Building Authority, (I think that's where the modern gabions are from as well), Ainsty, and a few that I can't recall where I obtained them. I thought they were from Pardulon but if so, I can't find them on their site. This stuff was all painted a few months back, I just never got around to photographing.

Whats left then, as far as primed terrain?

A large set of MDF industrial walkways and storage tanks.
A set of stone corrals from a Rorke's Drift box set.
Two shanty buildings from Miniature Building Authority (which I primed two weeks ago, I should have held off ;) )
Nine or so small sci-fi vehicles from Zombiesmith. I painted them once already but the paint flaked off the resin, so I stripped them and started over.

That's it for 'ready to go'. I have an absurd amount of built, half built, and still in the package terrain, miniatures, and vehicles.

I believe I painted about 158 miniatures, and a couple dozen terrain pieces this year. That might actually be a little light for me since I didn't do the Lead Painter League this year.

I'll be posting individual photos later when I have time to do some set ups. I'm pretty excited about getting the 40K figures finished- they're for a project I've had in mind for quite a long time!

A Completely Wholesome 40K Farming Family

This unusual set of miniatures was offered up for purchase in a Genestealer Cult Facebook group I am a member of. They could probably be considered crude by today's standards but they fit the old school 40K aesthetic to a tee.

The wagon is also recently painted and is a MDF kit from 4Ground.

The mother's expression is so sweet and loving that I almost feel bad about an Inquisitor showing up to purge them.

Almost.

Lead Adventure Atomic Mob Raider

The last primed and prepped raider from a Lead Adventure Miniatures 'Atomic Mob' pack. I replaced this figure's head with another LAM head, and switched a hammer for a spear. I really didn't care for this guy much, he's a crude sculpt, particularly the hands and head which I discarded.

Grand Duchess Tatiana Nikolaevna of Russia

Quite lot of non-sequitur miniatures coming off the desk lately.

This entry is Tatiana Romanov in her honorary military uniform, the Vosnesensky Lancers regiment. She is part of the interesting quasi-VSF range from Hinterland Miniatures.

Mechanics

I'm continuing to tear through my backlog of prepped miniatures. I set myself a goal of getting through everything I have primed by the end of the year...  some of these figures have been primed for over three or four years! I have some painted and awaiting basing materials, and four left that are bare primer. After that a large set of primed industrial terrain, some resin walls from a Rorke's Drift set, and two post apocalyptic shanty buildings. I think it's doable.

For now, two sci-fi mechanics from CP Models.

Hasslefree Witch Hazel

I think this is the last of the group of random miniatures I posted a few weeks back.

"Witch Hazel" from Hasslefree.
