The Festival of Christophorus - The Vostroyan

Excerpt from Esoteric Pilgrimage Destinations of the Gothic Sector, Volume 7, by Adept Matthias Laetorius.

"The ninth day of the Festival of Christophorus is dedicated to the destruction of heretical and subversive writings. On this day, an archaic and fearsome device of unknown STC pattern, called ‘The Vostroyan’ by the locals, is stationed in the Plaza of Conviction.  The grim engine houses an incinerator, which serves to immolate any prohibited books hurled within. Common examples of such texts include anti-Imperial propaganda and xenologies which are too accurate in their portrayals. In the year I attended, there were an unusually high number of pro-mutant writings, which presaged a coming wave of conflict in the capitol.”

Disclaimer: Photoshop was used in the second image, I intended on using some LEDs inside but didn't have a bright enough setup- maybe in the future...

Tau Xenos Kill Team

I realized I haven't done a group shot of the "Alien Legion" style Tau force, as it now stands.

Wargames Atlantic parts.

3D print "Goodest Boy", Wargames Exclusive, Hydra Miniatures Worm Man with conversion work.

Hasslefree, with a little conversion (new gun) on the Scooby guy.

Straight GW.

Jokaero 40K Xenos Acolyte

I painted up a Jokaero for the 'Inq28th' in February. I was pretty thrilled when GW released this guy many years ago... little did we know he would herald a bunch of Rogue Trader era stuff coming back into modern 40k. Also, I was never willing to spend a bunch of money on the old version!

Almost done painting all of the metal 2000s Inquistion acolytes and followers now. Just a bunch of gun servitors and the metal Stormtroopers!

Rogue Trader - Reaper Chronoscope - Xenos Servo Skulls

I acquired a Reaper 'Chronoscope' Time Chaser a few years ago... the plan was to use her as a Rogue Trader. This was before GW released their three plastic ones :)

As is often the case, the mini sat in the lead pile for years until the right time came along, which was a 'Fabulous February Females' painting competition on Instagram. I forgot to take a WIP shot of her, so I ended up painting another mini for that comp.

I had come across a bunch of  Photoshopped images by artist Steve Payne a few years back, which seemed to have a 40k vibe to them. He was taking paintings of Russian generals and shopping in an actor's face. I added a Sigourney Weaver of my own :)

I glued the prints to some magnetic sheets and added some frames I printed off on my Mars2.

I also try to make a new servo skull each month for #servoskullsaturday, a little initiative I started which challenges me to post a servo skull every second Saturday.

Chameleon Auxiliary - Tau Kill Team

I'd been anticipating the release of the Wargames Atlantic plastic Lizardmen, again with the intention of adding another xenos auxiliary to my Tau Kill team. I knew the kit was going to have a cool chameleon head.

As soon as I got the box I went to work modifying the arm to accept a Tau pulse rifle, with a new scope. I used a scabbard from the kit and added a new handle for a sheathed sword as well. Lastly, I sculpted a small shoulder pad so I could visually link him to the team a bit more.

I wasn't sure how I wanted to paint him, so I polled my Instagram account.

My sadistic followers voted for 3 (although I must be a masochist for listing it as an option... ).

Group picture of my Xenos team members so far.

Funny enough I don't have a Vespid or Kroot on the team, I need to rectify that.

Inquisitor Lord Kyria Draxus - Ordo Xenos

I've gotten a month behind on my two projects, the 40K Adventurers and the Inquisitor project. Not enough time in the days...

So, a month late- Inquisitor Lord Kyria Draxus of the Ordo Xenos. Games Workshop's second plastic Inquisitor, and one of the most radical looking to date- sporting a xenos creature and an Eldar shuriken catapult.
