Turnip28 - Whelps, Tod, and Pierre the Tubescent

Here are some recently photographed miniatures for the Turnip28 setting. I hadn't fired up the Mars2Pro for about a year, so a couple of weeks ago I ran off a few things I've been wanting to print for a while.

Whelps- these are light cavalry, roaming the land raiding vegetable patches and setting traps.

The riders are "Vampire hunters' from Titan Forge. I really liked the highwayman look they have going on. I modified two of them to have new heads supplied by Knucklebones. Their horses were too large compared to my other Turnip cav. so I went with plastic Wargames Atlantic generic horses and added green stuff details.

Tod - one of the characters in Turnip28, 3D printed model.

Marshal Pierre the Tubescent, yet another loathsome soldier vying for the Parsnip Empress's favors. 3D printed parts from the Forlorn Hope Kickstarter and Turnip28 Patreon.

Next up for Turnip is a Marshal of Cavalry and some lancers.

Turnip 28 - Buildings - Bogs - Laundry - Cityscape

For a few years now I have tried to knock out a large terrain project over the summer, with the intention to finish it prior to the start of school. For a variety of reasons I missed the deadlines I'd set myself... but better late than never!

The project is four buildings, a city backdrop, some bogs, and a few 3D printed items. The buildings are pretty old school- foamboard (foamcore), balsa wood, and cereal box cardboard for shingles. There are other miscellaneous items from Hirst Arts molds and 3d printed items scattered around.

The backdrop is made from foamcore and is part 3D, part illusionistically painted.

The 'Gatehouse' is a close copy of an illustration by 'Black Crab Art' for the Turnip28 game.

Bogs are simple MDF board with built up borders (latex caulk and wall filler compound). The gloss is three layers of gloss polyurethane.

The Laundry and Water Pump are from Infinite Dimensions and are 3D prints. The root ox is also printed, its from the Turnip28 Patreon.

Turnip28 - Grand Bombard

I started this project about a year ago- a Grand Bombard for the Turnip28 game. The cannon model is a design available from the Turnip28 Patreon. The crew is largely based on the Eureka 'Sandras' with a few other things added in.

I needed cannonballs for it, and got the mad idea to create some Madballs- weird toy foam balls from the 1980s. As far as I could tell, there wasn't an STL of them. I never actually owned any, but I do have a comic book featuring them! The spheres were actually my first major 3D designs, but oddly I ended up releasing a couple others before I got around to finalizing the 'Crazy 80s Spheres'.

I also designed some pulleys and a 'crane clamp' for gripping the spheres. I found a nice treadwheel crane by Printable Scenery that seemed to fit the vibe I was going for really well, because these things would be big and heavy!

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but I think it would need several more crew!

Turnip28 - Lord Simplesby - Chaff

Every once in a while I get the itch to create a few grimy Turnip28 miniatures. I am pretty close to having one example for each of the basic unit types.

Up for perusal is a new Toff, Lord Simplesby. He's a truly pathetic leader. Rumors amongst the troops is that he lost his legs in a valorous charge into a battery of cannon, but the truth is he amputated his own legs and stitched on root vegetables, for the sole purpose of wooing the Parsnip Empress. Naturally, this failed to win her favor and he's often tasked with particularly foolhardy missions.

I used two haves of Wargames Factory horses, Perry hussar legs and sword arm, Saint Decent's Turnip28 conversion parts, a Wargames Factory AWI arm, and GW Bretonnian bits here and there.  Plus greenstuff!

I also completed a unit of 'Chaff', which are basically pitiful excuses for skirmishers.

They are 3d printed, from a mixture of kits including the Turnip28 miniatures, Wargames Atlantic 'Camp Followers', and Big Mr. Tong firearms.

Medieval Beekeepers - Apiary - Infinite Dimensions - Midlam Miniatures

When I saw the very cool medieval style beekeepers that Midlam Miniatures produced, I had to have them despite having no idea what to use them for. I also saw a great apiary designed by Infinite Dimensions, so I acquired that and printed it on my Ender3Pro. This was all well over a year ago :)

I recently designed some things myself- some beekeeper hoods, so I thought I'd better paint up all of the relevant models.

Turnip28 Forlorn Hope and Dr. Mathias Beekeeper Hoods

The strange and wonderful 'Turnip28' creator conducted a Kickstarter recently for some digital files of soldiers specifically for the game. Naturally, I backed it, and have printed a few off. I have also been working on my own designs and used some of the Beekeeper hoods I created and printed.

Turnip28 - Civilians

I recently completed a few civilians for my Turnip28 regiment.

Three Reaper figures (two with some minor conversion) and three of the Eureka 'Sandras'.

Eureka 'Nanarchist' and two fleeing would-be bandits (converted Perry Zouaves).

A Reaper man in stocks (previously shown) and a Black Crab /Meridian Miniatures character.

Turnip28 - Empress's Imperial Coach

I purchased a package of cheap (quality and expense) wedding favors in the form of coaches several years ago, and used most for my dieselpunk Liebhusaren army. I recalled that I had one or two left so I made one into a coach for the Parsnip Empress of Cist. The horses are Wargames Atlantic, obviously turniped up with some greenstuff and some 3D printed legs and fungus.

The coachman set of two (standing and sitting) is from Eureka Miniatures 'Pax Limpopo' range. I replaced his whip in both cases with a brass rod and some string, and gave the standing version a flintlock pistol. The sitting one is magnetized. Most of the junk on the back is Hirst Arts castings, with some greenstuff veggies and a few weapons from a Wargames Factory AWI kit.

Thanks for looking!
