40K Adventurers - Ex-Tech - Hive Worlder - Hero - Bandit - Archaeologist

Having got behind on my 40K Adventurers project, I made up for it a bit this month and knocked out four more of the range.

The first group is the three most down-and-out of the set- the Hive Worlder, Hero, and Ex-Tech. All look like they have been through the ringer. I imagine them as stranded spacefarers or perhaps crew that resisted a mutiny and were marooned.

I also painted the 'Bandit' from the Adventurer's range. Followers of the project have probably noticed that the Talisman Timescape range usually has a very close match to a figure from the Adventurers range. To me anyway, the Bandit bears a resemblance to the Archaeologist, so I painted him up at the same time. 'Bandit' on the right.

Orktober 2020 Space Ork Renegade

Every year, the community painting project 'Orctober' (Orktober for we 40k players :) ) passes me by. This year I decided to make sure I sneaked one in, and since I no longer have any unpainted vintage orks I went with an oldhammer inspired Ork Renegade from Knightmare Miniatures.

Rogue Trader Inquisitor

The latest entry on my back-and-forth Inquisition project (painting the oldest, then the most recent, working toward the center) is a Rogue Trader era generic Inquisitor. He came in a pack of three. I was not a huge fan of this guy back in the olden days, but he grew on me as I was painting him.

He is pictured in front of some Penitent cages (MDF kits from Kromlech).

Next up, Solomon Lok and retinue from ForgeWorld.

Hydra Miniatures - Azeemah, Imperial Princess - Empire of Marduk

Hydra sent me an advance resin copy of "Azeemah, Imperial Princess" to paint for them a couple of months ago. I've been waiting for them to reveal the miniature so that I could post it. She was fun to paint, lots of little details.

The Empire of Marduk forces so far:

40k Adventurers - Squat Miner - Engineer - Mole Mortars - Shorty

I'm about two months behind on my 40K Adventurers project, but still chipping away. Up for perusal is the Squat Miner and Engineer from the Adventurers range, along with a couple mole mortars they use for surveying, a ratling security guard ('Shorty', from the Mercenaries range) and a Squat crewman.

I had a hard time coming up with a color scheme for them, which was why it took me so long to get around to committing. I ended up using an old Rogue Trader illustration, along with the box art from the 1970's TV show 'Electric Company'.

Inquisitor Lord Kyria Draxus - Ordo Xenos

I've gotten a month behind on my two projects, the 40K Adventurers and the Inquisitor project. Not enough time in the days...

So, a month late- Inquisitor Lord Kyria Draxus of the Ordo Xenos. Games Workshop's second plastic Inquisitor, and one of the most radical looking to date- sporting a xenos creature and an Eldar shuriken catapult.

4th Doctor Who - Harry Sullivan - Sarah Jane Smith

A few years ago I binged watched all the Doctor Who episodes on Netflix that were available. They had the modern stuff which I greatly enjoyed, but I have a soft spot for the 4th Doctor as that was who I occasionally watched as a kid. There were only a couple 4th Doctor episodes available before Netflix dropped them entirely.

Anyway, as of late I've been going though the Tom Baker episodes in order (via BluRay and DVD) and have gotten a bug to acquire some miniatures. I decided on the old school chunky look so they will fit better with my overall collection of stuff.

First up, the 4th Doctor and his initial companions Harry Sullivan and Sarah Jane Smith, all originally Harlequin Miniatures.

Not the best likenesses as you can see but they are what they are!
